Irradiation growth of metals and alloys

  • 1. AN Ukrainskoj SSR, Kharkov. Fiziko-Tekhnicheskij Inst.

Description

This paper is focused on three basic aspects of irradiation growth in metals and alloys. The authors start out with a discussion of the degree of similarity of experimental regularities that govern irradiation growth of various in-reactor irradiated metals and alloys. Secondly, they dwell on several advanced irradiation growth experimental studies of in-accelerator irradiated metals and sift through this data, making necessary correlations as well as comparing it with the data on in-reactor irradiation. Lastly, the concluding section deals with the phenomenon of irradiation growth of metals and alloys from the standpoint of generalization of physical processes underlying anisotropic macroscopic deformation during irradiation.
