Description
A new and multi-function mobile laboratory was first designed for the special environment of nuclear and radiation emergency monitoring and actual demand in China. The laboratory is based on a cubic module, which could be quickly transported and placed when a nuclear and radiation accident happened. A mobile-laboratory has functions of sample collection, sample pre-processing, sample preparation, measurement, data processing and transmission. It has overcome the limitations of the existing vehicle-mounted radiation environment monitoring mobile-laboratory in China. This paper discusses the scheme and the device configuration necessary for these functions, summarizes experiences, finds questions and proposes improving measures by practical applications. The laboratory has applied in nuclear and radiation emergency monitoring works of the northeast border and surrounding areas in China. It has stable and reliable performance, strong adaptability to environment and the remarkable effect. It can provide strong protection for nuclear and radiation emergency monitoring action of China.
