Test and design of a passive core snubber for the protection of neutral beam injectors
- 1. Institut fur Hochspannungstechnik, Technische Universitat, PF 3329, D-3300 Braunschweig
Description
The paper gives results of tests carried out on passive core snubbers for a better understanding of their operating mechanism. Prototype core snubbers consisting of different iron materials have been investigated under various parameter changes as air gap width, discharge frequency, and load current amplitude. A model for interpreting the results is presented and discussed
