A test of parity conservation in the reaction 27Al(p vector, α)24Mg

Description
As a test of parity conservation in compound nucleus reactions in the regime of Ericson fluctuations we use the reaction 27Al(p vector, α0.1)24Mg at θlab=167.20. The parity-violating asymmetry was determined at six bombarding energies between 10 and 12 MeV. An upper limit of 7x10-4 at a confidence level of 80% for the average parity-violating reaction amplitude is derived. (orig.)
