Differential scattering cross sections for collisions of alkali ions and atoms. III
- 1. Stichting voor Fundamenteel Onderzoek der Materie, Amsterdam (Netherlands). Instituut voor Atoom en Molecuulfysica
Description
Relative differential cross sections, for direct and charge exchange scattering, have been measured for the Li++Na and the Na++Li system, over the energy range 200-1200 eV and for scattering angles 0-6 mrad. The experimental results have been compared to a quasi-resonant, multi-state, semiclassical analysis based upon theoretical potential energy curves. In order to obtain agreement between theory and experiment it was necessary to assume crossing quasi-potentials which smoothly join the 1Σ and the 2Σ potentials around the Demkov coupling region.
