Thermal conductivity
Description
This chapter on thermal conductivity examines intrinsic lattice conductivity, influence of impurities, and grain boundaries and lattice disorders. The relative magnitudes of insulator and conductor conductivity are discussed. Regarding the electronic component, thermal resistivity due to electron-impurity scattering is considered. The lattice component and thermal conductivity of alloys is reviewed. Normal-state electronic resistivity and the superconducting state are addressed. A review of the thermal transport in Ti-Nb alloys is given, and Kapitza resistance of the Cu/Ti-Nb interface is examined
