High-power bus ducts for Muelheim-Kaerlich NPP (FRG)
Creators
Description
The structure of bus ducts for Muelhein-Kaerlich NPP operating at 36.6 kA current with forced air cooling is considered 1635 MVxA power transmission lines with attaching switches connect busses. A single-phase structure of buses confined in metal tube jacket is adopted for all bus ducts. Buses have a tube configuration and are made of aluminium with 99.5% purity. The adopted single-phase system of bus ducts has the following advantages: safety when touching a jacket by buses, economy of area for bus ducts, high thermal and dynamic stability at shortings, dust and water shielding, maintanance simplicity
