Fluorination of beryllium concentrates with ammonium fluorides

Description
New method for processing of beryllium ores to beryllium oxide was suggested and studied. The method is based on decomposition of bertrandite or phenacite with ammonium fluoride, with the subsequent leaching of ammonium tetrafluoroberyllate and precipitation of beryllium hydroxide from the solution. The thermodynamic characteristics were calculated and thermogravimetric studies of the process were conducted. The kinetics of beryllium oxide fluorination with ammonium fluoride was experimentally studied. A closed-cycle flowsheet is suggested for processing of beryllium-containing raw materials with ammonium fluoride

Предложен и исследован новый метод переработки бериллиевого рудного сырья до оксида бериллия. Метод основан на разложении бертрандита или фенакита фторидами аммония с последующим выщелачиванием тетрафторобериллата аммония и осаждением из раствора гидроксида бериллия. Рассчитаны термодинамические характеристики и проведены термогравиметрические исследования процесса. Экспериментально исследована кинетика фторирования оксида бериллия фторидом аммония.
