Observational manifestations of pion stars

  • 1. Erevan State Univ.

Description

It is shown that for nuclearlike superdense cosmic objects - pion stars - the Kelvin cooling time is due solely to the photon energy loss channel and is much shorter than for ordinary neutron stars. Specific nuclear processes taking place on the surface of such objects in the presence of matter accretion may lead to the occurrence of γ pulsars
