Maximum temperature of target under highly intensive ion implantation
Description
On the basis of theory of solid body thermal conductivity expressions for the limiting target temperature under different conditions of highly intensive ionic radiation are obtained. At constant temperature on the back target surface there appears a limiting temperature dependence on target thickness and thermal conductivity. Beam dose rate and duration necessary for melting a fine near-surface layer are estimated
