Radiation protection and reactor safety
Description
The Chernobyl reactor accident caused bewilderment, fear and anxiety among the population. How safe are reactors? Which precautions to protect lives and health have been taken? These questions are posed particularly in the areas of radiation protection, reactor safety, supply and waste management of nuclear power plants and other nuclear installations. For all these areas the present report contains an analysis of facts; it informs about political measures during the 11th legislative period of the German Bundestag, and shows prospects of future developments. Der Reaktorunfall in Tschernobyl hat in der Bevoelkerung Betroffenheit, Angst und Beunruhigung ausgeloest. Wie sicher sind Reaktoren? Welche Vorkehrungen fuer den Schutz von Leben und Gesundheit werden getroffen? Diese Fragen stellen sich insbesondere in den Bereichen: Strahlenschutz, Reaktorsicherheit, Ver- und Entsorgung von Kernkraftwerken und anderen kerntechnischen Einrichtungen. Fuer diese Bereiche enthaelt der vorliegende Bericht eine Sachstandsanalyse; er informiert ueber die politischen Massnahmen in der 11. Legislaturperiode des deutschen Bundestages und zeigt Perspektiven der zukuenftigen Entwicklung auf. (orig.)
