SNG generation from hard coal by steam gasification using a high temperature Module reactor plant

Automatic translation: In report no. 78.11576.7, hydrogen production was canceled Hard coal by means of steam gasification and use of an HTR-M plant described. The present report represents a steam gasification with HTR-M to generate SNG before, where also the latest proposals to improve economy like Omission of the intermediate circuit, stationary carburettor with Partial gasification and pressure reduction have been incorporated. At the end, an economic feasibility study was carried out, where a 6-string plant (6 reactors of 170 MW each) was taken as a basis. Given a coal price of 280 DM/t this results in SNG generation costs of approx. 0.50 DM/mN3.
Abstract (German)
In dem Bericht Nr. 78.11576.7 wurde die Wasserstofferzeugung aus Steinkohle mittels Wasserdampfvergasung und Einsatz einer HTR-MAnlage beschrieben. Der vorliegende Bericht stellt eine Wasserdampfvergasung mit HTR-M zur Erzeugung von SNG vor, wobei ebenfalls die neuesten Vorschläge zur Verbesserung der Wirtschaftlichkeit wie Wegfall des Zwischenkreislaufes, stehender Vergaser mit Teilvergasung und Druckabsenkung eingeflossen sind. Als Abschluß wurde eine Wirtschaftlichkeitsbetrachtung durchgeführt, wobei eine 6strängige Anlage (6 Reaktoren zu je 170 MW) zugrunde gelegt wurde. Bei einem Kohlepreis von 280 DM/t ergeben sich hierbei SNG-Erzeugungskosten von ca. 0,50 DM/mN3.
