Description

Preliminary measurements were made of the activity concentrations of radionuclides in the 238U and 232Th decay series in water and process waste associated with the treatment of water in the city of Poços de Caldas, Brazil. The results indicated a need for further evaluation of the process waste in cooperation with the local water treatment company to identify any occupational and environmental radiation protection issues.
