Crystal chemistry and superconductivity in M(Ba1-ySry)2RECu2Ox

  • 1. Angewandte Physik, Johannes-Kepler Univ. Linz (Austria)

Description

The crystal chemistry and superconductivity have been investigated for compounds of the type of REBaSrCu3Ox (REtriple bondLa, Ce, Pr, Nd, Sm, Eu, Gd, Tb, Dy, Y, Ho, Er, Tm, Lu) and MA2RECu2O8-y (Mtriple bondNb or Ta, Atriple bondBa or Sr and REtriple bondPr or Sm). The powder X-ray diffraction analysis of REBaSrCu3Ox revealed a structural phase transition from tetragonal to orthorhombic, when the ionic radius of the RE3+ decreases. The MSr2RECu2O8-y compounds crystallized in a tetragonal structure similar to that of Y-123. (orig.)
