On the critical length of a crack under impact loading

Description
There have been carried out the impact tests of the specimens representing eight grades of the turbine steels (1Kh13, 1Kh13Sh, EhP428, EhP428sh, EhT410, EhI415, 30KhMA and 38KhN3MFA). The notched specimens (r=1 mm) and specimens with the preliminarily made fatigue cracks have been tested at a temperature of -196 to +100 deg C. Plotting of charts showing impact strength of the specimens with various-length fatigue cracks versus temperature proves to be useful from the point of view of investigating sensitivity of the material to cracks
