Autoclave breakdown of zircon with ammonium fluorides

Description
The kinetics of autoclave breakdown of zircon with ammonium fluoride or ammonium hydrogen difluoride were studied under laboratory conditions and optimum process parameters were identified. It is found that 95% decomposition of zircon can be reached for 1.5 h when using ammonium hydrogen difluoride at 300 deg C; under these conditions the pressure rises up to 45 atm. A general flowsheet is proposed for the cycle of zircon decomposition followed by ammonium fluoride recovery by regeneration and zirconyl hydroxide preparation
Abstract (Russian)
В лабораторных условиях изучена кинетика разложения циркона фторидом и гидрофторидом аммония в автоклаве и найдены оптимальные параметры процесса. Установлено, что при использовании гидрофторида аммония при температуре 300 град С 95%-ное разложение происходит за 1.5 ч, при этом в системе развивается давление до 45 атм. Предложена общая технологическая схема цикла разложения циркона с регенерацией фторида аммония и получением гидроксида цирконилаAdditional details
