Capacity of the Guianese electric power network to integrate electric power productions from renewable energies - Preparation to the PPI 2008, Report 16 July 2008. Renewable energies: an answer adapted to the Guianese context - The Kaw hybrid power plant

Description

A first document reports a study of capacities of the French Guianese electric power network to cope with electric power production from renewable energies (biomass, hydraulic, wind, photovoltaic), as well in connection to source stations as in connection to the 20 kV distribution grid, of required works, of costs, of constraints and of costs for producers. It presents peculiarities of island electric power systems, general arrangements of a power system, the Guianese electric power system, technical constraints related to the injection of renewables into the grid, the technical framework applicable to this injection. It justifies the use of renewable energies and discusses possible evolutions. It also discusses the necessary evolution of network architecture, and proposes a synthesis of potentials of renewable energies, and of the capacities of the Guianese networks to integrate renewable productions. Major lessons learned and recommendations are stated. The second document presents peculiarities related to Guianese territory and energy, discusses Guyana's assets related to renewable energies and to economic development, and proposes an overview of brakes and levers for the development of renewable energies in Guyana.
