Luminescence methods of retrospective dosimetry
Description
Applications of thermoluminescence and optically stimulated luminescence in retrospective dosimetry are described and discussed. The physical principle of the methods and conditions for their practical use are outlined. Current information is presented regarding the feasibility of dose estimation by using suitable objects and materials that are not classical dosemeters and which were present at the place of the radiation incident or were in the possession of people affected by the radiation incident. The results of both domestic and foreign research are summarized. In addition, information about the Laboratory of Retrospective Luminescence Dosimetry, National Radiation Protection Institute in Prague is provided. (orig.)
