Dependence of optical-radiative properties of diffuse reflecting coatings on structural transformations

Description
Effects of solar, thermal and gamma irradiations on structural transformations and optical properties were studied for diffuse reflecting coatings on magnesium oxide or zinc oxide bases with alkali-silicate binder. Increase of binder content as well as dose rates was shown to result in crystal growth, cluster formation and reflection coefficient decrease. Ce2O3 additions were found to be favourable for fine-grained structure formation, to promote high stability of optical properties and to prevent clustering
