Asymmetrical radioactivity uptake after unilateral mastectomy

Description

Increased concentration of99m Tc-methylene diphosphonate or pyrophosphate was observed in 110 breast cancer patients who subjected to unilateral mastectomy mainly in the ribs and soft tissues of the arm on the mastectomy side as well as the remaining breast. The accumulation of99Tc-phosphate complex in these sites does not necessarily indicate metastatic deposits.1 tab., 2 fig
