Research and design of probability safety assessment information system for nuclear power plant

  • 1. Computer Application Institute of Nuclear Industry, Haidian District Beijing (China)

Description

Probability Safety Assessment (PSA) is a safety analysis method for nuclear power plant. The main application tools for PSA are: Mitigating System Performance Indicator (MSPI) and Significance Determination Process (SDP). MSPI is the numerical sum of the deviation between a system's actual unavailability and unreliability values for a calendar quarter and the established baseline values. SDP uses risk insights to help the NRC inspectors to determine the safety significance of inspection findings. In China, more and more nuclear power plants are building, which decided to focus on safety. The PSA information system has significant safety value for the operation of nuclear power plants.
