Description

This paper reviews work in Sweden aiming to establish the economics of utilizing waste heat from large power plants and to assess the possibilities of further improvements in heat transport and distribution techniques. In addition the work on an overall programme of district heating system optimization is described. This programme enables us to assess the improvements made possible by new techniques, since each technique is optimized prior to the comparison. Applied results from the optimization will be given during the oral presentation of the paper. (author)
