Diffusion coefficient scaling in a epsilon→1 plasma

  • 1. University of Wisconsin, Madison, Wisconsin 53706

Description

When the low frequency plasma dielectric constant, epsilon, was reduced below two by decreasing the density in a collisionless hydrogen plasma with a purely poloidal magnetic field, a change in the scaling of the diffusion coefficient was observed in agreement with the epsilon→1 limit for vortex diffusion
