Determination of the distribution function of an elliptical galaxy

Creators

  • 1. Department of Mathematics, The Florida State University, Tallahassee, Florida

Description

A new method is presented for constructing a collisionless distribution function for an elliptical galaxy whose mass distribution is known. The method, which involves the use of Stieltjes transforms, is used in the study of a new set of mass distributions that have two dimensionless parameters
