Gauge dependence of ultraviolet behaviour in perturbative QCD

  • 1. Joint Institute for Nuclear Research, Dubna (USSR)

Description

Effective running coupling of QCD αs can generally depend on the gauge parameter a. In this paper the results of renormalization group (RG) analysis of several MOM-schemes with this dependence are presented. It is shown that for some cases gauge dependence can essentially influence the ultraviolet behavior of bar αs and, particularly, destroy the asymptotic freedom property. The authors discuss the gauge invariance of RG improved perturbative QCD as well as reasons of its possible violation of physical matrix elements
