Core fast-discharge system for pebble bed reaction

Description

Below the core there is an annulus into which discharge ducts for the spherical fuel elements disembogue, branching off at an angle from the fuel element removing tubes. In order to intensify the heat removal from the annulus the side walls are designed in the form of finned walls through which coolant is flowing and which have got an insulation consisting of carbon bricks. Shutt-off devices in the discharge ducts which can be checked consist of two bar screens which can be moved with respect to one another and which together form a blocking wall. (DG)

Abstract (German)

Unterhalb des Core befindet sich ein Ringraum, in den Entladungsleitungen fuer die kugelfoermigen Be einmuenden, wobei die Entladungsleitung schraeg von den BE-Entnahmeleitungen abzweigen. Zur Intensivierung der Waermeabfuhr aus dem Ringraum sind die Seitenwaende in Form von kuehlmitteldurchstroemten Flossenwaenden aufgebaut, die eine Waermeisolierung mit Kohlesteinen aufweisen. Ueberpruefbare Absperrorgane in den Entnahmeleitungen bestehen aus zwei gegeneinander beweglichen Stabrechen, die sich zu einer Sperrwand ergaenzen. (DG)
