Description
In order to reduce the volume of tests needed to develop a forging sequence without properties heterogeneities, the development of a simulation tool describing the microstructural evolutions coupled to the hot forging thermo-mechanical process, has been studied. A complete simulation of the Zircaloy-4 present forging sequence has been carried out with an isotropic viscoplastic rheology. A self-consistent polycrystalline model enabled then to calculate the texture and anisotropy related evolutions, for various bar volumes during forming. (A.B.)
