Ranger uranium mine water management system

The design and operation of the Ranger water management system are described. The system was designed to provide a continuous supply of water for the mining and milling operations and to comply with the agreed authorisations drawn up to protect the environment. The catchment areas and pond areas are sized so that sufficient water may be collected during the wet season to allow continued operation during the dry season. The system is also designed so that there is no uncontrolled release from the restricted release zone to the environment
