Novel dosimeter and thermometer by using fluorinated polymer
- 1. Waseda Univ., Advanced Research Institute for Science and Engineering, Tokyo (Japan)
Description
The ethylene-co-tetrafluoroethylene polymer (ETFE) is forming conjugated double bonds and network by electron beam (EB) or γ-rays irradiation. It was found that the generated conjugated double bonds are related to absorbed dose and irradiation temperature. Thus, optical density (OD) of conjugated double bonds was measured by spectro-photometer, as the results, it was found that OD of conjugated double bonds was proportional to absorbed dose and irradiation temperature. Therefore, it was suggested that the relationship between absorbed dose and irradiation temperatures could be applied for the new dosimeter with wide dynamic range and the temperature measurement under irradiation.
