Investigation of pyridine polynuclear uranyl chlorohydroxo complex

Description

Polynuclear complex compound of [(UO2)4 (OH)6Cl6x4Py](PyH)4 composition has been investigated by methods of physicochemical analysis. It is shown that uranyl groupings are bound into a polymeric chain by diol bridges. Frequences have been found in substance vibrational spectra which are responsible for vaience osciitations ν(OH) at 3455 cm-1 and deformation oscillations delta(OH) in the region of 1155, 896 and 885 cm-1. A wide intensive band which has the maximum at 485 cm-1 corresponds to U-O-U bridge oscillations. It has been found spectroscopically that ppyridine enters into the composition of the compound both in a molecular form and PyH+ ion form. The thermal stability of the produced complex has been investigated in inert atmosphere. It is shown that the thermolysis of the substance proceeds in a complicated manner with the release of pyridine, water and hydrochloric acid pyridinium into the gaseous phase. According to the data of the chemical analysis the length of the polymeric chain is limited by four UO22+ ions. The structure of the compound is suggested
