Description
The relaxation of the intrinsic degrees of freedom is studied in nucleon-induced precompound reactions. The equilibration process in the hydrodynamic stage is described by using a time-dependent density matrix formalism. The dependence of the relaxation time on the energy and on the mass number is determined. Both precompound and compound particle spectra as well as angular distributions are calculated. (P.L.)
