Development of induction melting waste form fabrication process using 3D printing technology
Description
The purpose of this project is to develop 3D printing based waste fabrication process by applying 3D printing technology to cold-crucible induction melting (CCIM). To apply 3D printing technology to waste form fabrication process, cold-crucible induction melter was designed and manufactured for melting and drain process in consideration of 3D printing. Glass solid form prototype was fabricated and its physicochemical properties were analyzed to evaluate applicability to 3D printing-based waste form fabrication process. By applying 3D printing design logic, 3D printing-based waste form fabrication process was established. Through optimization tests of drain process, physically stable waste form was fabricated using the 3D printing-based waste form fabrication process. The process could be applied to fabrication of various shapes of waste form as well as general cylinder type waste form
