Description
The effect of the coupling to the πd channel on the intermediate energy NN scattering is studied using the recent NN→NN and NN→πd partial wave analyses as well as the coupled NN→πNN theory. Contrary to some recent claims, it is found that this coupling is important in the 1D2 and 3F3 partial waves in which the intermediate NΔ configuration dominates
