Deck model analysis of the reaction π+d → π+π+π-d at 15 GeV/c
Description
A one-pion exchange Deck model for the reaction π+d → π+π+π-d is developed and applied in an analysis of the data for the reaction π+d at 15 GeV/c. The model includes a complete symmetrization of the amplitude in the three pions, and a phase shift parametrization based on experimental parameters for the ππ scattering amplitude over the energy range from threshold to 2.0 GeV. Since the model employed here is intended to describe beam dissociation phenomenon, a region I longitudinal phase space selection is made on the data and is compared with the model. In addition, subenergy unitarity (rescattering) corrections based on the prescription of Lasinski, Goradia, Tabak, and Smadja are included in the model, and these predictions are compared with the data and the bare Deck model predictions
