Description
A laminated dipole magnet with control circuitry has been built to facilitate simultaneous bombardment of two targets by ''kicking'', i.e. by periodically deflecting the ion beams of the Heidelberg compact cyclotron by about 100. Based on thedesign features of the system about 10% of beam charge and hence yield is expected to be lost as compared to continuous irradiation. (orig.)
