Description
Radon (Rn-222) has been found to be an important source of information concerning the deeply buried uranium mineralization (and in some favourable cases the oil reserves). A number of active and passive methods for correlating radon signals with mineral sources (both radioactive and non radioactive) have been developed during the last two decades or so. This paper briefly reviews different active and passive methods for radon measurements with a view to explore uranium deposits. A critical review has been given of different methods available and in use these days. Some successful applications of radon measurements for uranium exploration have also been given.
