Description
This paper presents the results of the 1987-1989 studies conducted in the Lublin Coal Basin and its surroundings located in the Leczna-Wlodawa Lake Region. The amount of dustfall and heavy metals deposition were determined. The annual average amounts of heavy metals in dustfall deposited in 1989 were: Zn, 46.4; Mn, 13.2; Pb, 13.7; Cu, 10.1; Cd, 5.6; Cr, 3.1; V, 2.4; Ni, 1.6 kg km-2 yr-1. It was found out that the amount of individual heavy metals in dustfall deposited in the cold winter period was 1.5-6.0 times greater than that deposited in the warm summer period. Some comparison between concentrations of heavy metals in dustfall, the soil and Earth's crust, was also undertaken
