Application of the multi-parameter jump diffusion model to the theory of the thermal neutron scattering from the αPdHsub(x) system
Description
The aim of this paper is to propose a model of the multi-parameter jump diffusion of hydrogen atoms in the Pd-H α-phase and to apply it to the quasi-elastic neutron scattering theory. It is proved that the diffusion occurs through jumps between adjacent and further octahedral interstitial sites. From the variation of the diffusion coefficient with temperature we obtain the value 5600 cal/g. atom for the activation energy, which is in good agreement with most experimental data. (author)
