New computer program for radiotherapeutic dose planning at the Medical University of Szeged Pt. 1

Description

A complex of computerized oncoradiological system has been developed consisting of patient registration and radiotherapeutic dose planning routines. Using the dose planning program WIGATS, the dose rates at the scanning spots of the stationary or moving radiation field, the integral doses of the organs or tissues in question can be calculated, the isodose chart produced on an X-Y plotter can be determined, the maximum doses are selected and the average dose at the focus is determined. According to the control measurements, only slight differences between the calculated dose distributions based on the programs WIGATS and those of programs WIGATS and those of Van de Geigh could be observed.
