Single-neutron emission induced by stopped π- in 1p shell nuclei
- 1. European Organization for Nuclear Research, Geneva (Switzerland)
Description
A search for the (π-,n) reaction on 6Li, 7Li, 9Be, 10B, 12C, and 14N has been made via a careful investigation of the high-energy part of the π- induced neutron spectra. In the case of 6Li, 7Li, and 12C, distinct peaks could be observed, corresponding to a single neutron emission rate of (1-2) x 10-3 per stopped pion. The observed rate is compared with other pion-induced single-nucleon reactions and their inverses. (Auth.)
