Resonant influence of bumpy steady magnetic field ripples on the structure of the local Alfven resonance
Description
Distribution of electromagnetic wave fields within the local Alfven resonance is studied under the resonant condition such that a period of the fundamental harmonic of radio - frequency wave in the axial direction is twice as large as the period of the steady bumpy magnetic field. Account for the ripples of the steady magnetic field is shown to remove infinite discontinuity of the wave fields, that takes place in straight magnetic field. Arising of the gap in the Alfven continua caused by the ripples is discussed. (orig.)
