Shape resonances in elastic scattering of slow electrons by Be, Mg, Zn and Cd

Description
Calculations on the elastic scattering of electrons from Be, Mg, Zn and Cd indicate the presence of a low-lying p-wave shape resonance for every atom. The predicted positions of the resonances are compared with other theoretical results and with the available experimental data. (author)
