Description
A method of energy dispersive x-ray fluorescence analysis of uranium in solution has been developed for application in the field of nuclear fuels. The possibility of use of combined gamma spectrometry and energy dispersive x-ray fluorescence analysis technique for uranium isotopic analysis in dilute aqueous solutions has been studied.Uranium UK x-rays were excited by gamma-rays of''5''7Co radionuclide source and were measured together with 185.7keV gamma-rays of ''2''3''5U using a planar pure Ge detector. Uranium Kαl fluorescent x-rays were used for the evaluation. The method was proved to total uranium concentration in the region of 5-30mg U/ml
