An experimental review of direct photons
Description
Recent results on direct photons from collider and fixed-target experiments are presented and compared with a next-to-leading order calculation. The agreement is very good, provided a soft gluon and Λ = 200 MeV are used in the calculation. Results on angular distributions, on photon-jet distributions, and on low-mass dimuons are also discussed. New results on photon pair production from three experiments are also in agreement with theory. An anomalous production of low-z and low-pT photons in Deep-Inelastic Muon Scattering is reported
