The effects of Ce and Y DOPPING in a Ca2MnReO6 double perovskite

Full text: We have studied the effects of Ce and Y dopping in Ca-site of Ca2MnReO6 double perovskite up to 10% and 15% respectively. The Rietveld refinement of X-ray diffraction pattern showed a change in the lattice parameters of the doped without change in the space group P21/n. The X-ray Absorption Near Edge (XANES) spectra at the Mn K-edge and the Re L3-edge showed a non-integer valence for Mn and Re in all samples. The Mn average valence was +2.3. It was invariant for all samples. The Re average valence decrease with the Y content. Taken into account that the Mn average valence was invariant for all samples, the frustration temperature shift was associated with the values for Re average valence. (author)
