Multi-detector scintillation detection unit

The detection unit consists of at least two well-type scintillators which have the shape of a polyhedron, e.g., a prism or cube, and at least two photomultipliers. The photomultipliers are placed in a case divided by partitions into segments. Placed in each segment is a scintillator and photomultiplier pair. The design of the detection unit gives a compact unit which is easily maintained and assembled. The detector is firmly fitted in the case thereby reducing the size of the unit and facilitating data processing. The detection unit is suitable for measuring radionuclide-labelled samples in automatic gamma counters. (M.D.). 1 fig
