In core system mapping reactor power distribution

Description

Based on the signals of SPND'S (Self Powered Neutron Detectors) distributed inside of a core, the spatial power distribution is obtained using the MAP program, developed in this work. The methodology applied in MAP program uses a least mean square technique to calculate expansion coefficients that depend on the SPND'S signals. The final power or neutron flux distribution is obtained by a combination of certains functions or expansion modes that are provided from diffusion calculation with the CITATION code. The MAP program is written in PASCAL language and will be used in IEA-R1 reactor for assisting its operation. (author)

Abstract (Portuguese)

A partir de informacoes fornecidas por detectores SPND'S ('Self Powered Neutron Detectors'), distribuidos no interior do nucleo de um reator, obtem-se a distribuicao de potencia espacial, atraves do programa MAP, desenvolvido no presente trabalho. A metodologia consiste em obter a distribuicao final de potencia, pela combinacao de certas funcoes ou modos de expansao, obtidos previamente por calculo de difusao, com o programa CITATION. Os coeficientes de expansao sao obtidos por meio de tecnica de minimos quadrados, a partir dos sinais fornecidos pelos detectores. O programa MAP esta elaborado em linguagem PASCAL, para ser utilizado no acompanhamento de operacao no reator IEA-R1. (autor)
