Determination of hydrogen/deuterium in PHWR coolant channels employing HVE-QMS

  • 1. Radioanalytical Chemistry Section, Radiochemistry and Isotope Group, Bhabha Atomic Research Centre, Mumbai (India)

Description

A hot vacuum extraction cum quadrupole mass spectrometric (HVE-QMS) technique designed by us has been employed for the determination of hydrogen and deuterium in zircaloy coolant channels of pressurised heavy water reactors (PHWR). Both bulk and silver samples were analysed. Deuterium pick-up during sampling has also been determined. (author)
