On the acid-base equilibrium of the carbonate radical

Description
Using pulse radiolysis and coupled optical detection the pKsub(a) of the HCO3 radical is shown to lie between 7.0 and 8.2. The rate constant of self-recombination of CO3 has a negative apparent activation energy which indicates a composite process. (author)
