Calculation of the superconducting magnet system for production of the inhomogeneous magnetic field in a static mass spectrometer analyzer
Description
Method for calculating current distributions in the system of sectional solenoids for assigned field formation is described and calculation for particular type of the field has been conducted. Magnetic system, designated for investigation of charged particle passage through inhomogeneous fields has been created. The magnetic system is composed of two similar coaxial coils of rectangular cross-section, each compiled of 16 concentric coils of equal thickness, applied with turns touching by copper evire 0.7 mm in diameter. Results of field calculation are in a good agreement with experimental data. This supports both the correctness of calculations according to the given method and practical possibility of creating such systems with sufficient accuracy
